Southern Oregon Integrative Medicine
Dr. Tom Messinger, RN, ND
Scheduling
Dr. Tom Messinger is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor. He specializes in evaluating patients that have been suffering with complex, chronic health issues. Many patients that he sees have experienced health challenges for years and have never had the underlying cause of their issues properly identified
Prior to becoming an ND, he was a Registered Nurse for 23 years, spending most of his career working in inner city Emergency Departments/Trauma Centers. Prior to moving to Southern Oregon, he was founder and Clinic Director of Portland Natural Medicine in SE Portland. He has a highly successful practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne diseases, chronic infections, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CS/ME), Fibromyalgia, and digestive issues.
His education in Lyme disease began by participating in foundational training with ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society). He continued his education in Lyme disease by doing extensive research and by taking multiple trainings with Dr. Klinghardt, MD, PHD (a well-known Lyme disease specialist) and the Klinghardt Academy. In addition to being a member of ILADS, he is also a member of the International Society of Environmentally Acquired Illness (ISEAI), which has furthered his understanding on how to evaluate and treat environmental illnesses that can significantly impact health.
He has been a featured speaker on the subject of Lyme disease. He was the guest speaker on a Portland Radio show discussing Lyme disease in Oregon. Here is the link:

He was a featured speaker in the SIBO Summit II speaking about SIBO and Lyme disease. In 2017 he spoke at the Lyme disease and Comorbidities seminar, a training given to physicians on Lyme disease and related topics.
Dr. Messinger has found that most chronically ill patients have multiple, if not numerous factors contributing to their health issues. He utilizes a number of tools to assess what may be the root causes of a patient's health issues. After finding the imbalances and prioritizing the order of treatment, he uses an individualized combination of treatments to assist in the restoration of health.
